The Salt Lake Legal Defender Association (SLLDA/LDA) is hosting the Intermountain West Trial College starting on April 28th, which is a premier program for public criminal defense practitioners, and attorneys from around the region will be participating in the program. The students in the trial college will be working on developing trial skills such as direct and cross-examination and learning about objections to evidence. That’s why we need you!
We need some community members to act as jurors for the scenarios provided to the students. Ideal volunteers would be justice-impacted individuals, but anyone will do. This is a great opportunity to observe (unofficial) court proceedings and the process by which evidence is entered into trials.
All volunteers are needed on April 30th from 12 to 5pm at the Salt Lake Legal Defenders Association located at 275 East 200 South Salt Lake City, UT. 84111. Registration is required and spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
